400,000+ kids are in foster care today. Several thousand are on Long Island alone. Often kids are moved unexpectedly and many times their few possessions are put in trash bags.
No child should live out of a trash bag. Ever.
To help make kids more comfortable while they are away from their homes, we are providing duffel bags to kids in foster care.
A high-quality duffel bag filled with items kids need …
… A big comfy blanket with a teddy bear.
… A journal with a multicolored pen.
… A few toys that are easy to carry.
… Toiletries to meet basic needs.
… And a backpack filled with school supplies.
Every dollar helps another item get into the bag. One complete duffel bag with all the items (including the backpack) is approximately $55.
