Creating, running and growing a business is hard work. I know; I’m a business owner too. After 24 years of corporate life (including 6 years with a start-up), I pursued my lifelong dream of opening my own law firm at the end of 2015.
LOVE LAW FIRM, PLLC now serves entrepreneurs and businesses of all sizes. I’ve had the honor of working with single person start-ups to regional companies with a hundred plus employees to international companies with offices worldwide. Every single client is important to me.
Our law firm’s motto, “Build. Not Billed.”, is a reflection of my desire to bring high-quality, business-focused legal solutions to my clients. Solutions that are recognized as a value added, not as another expense entry.
I didn’t grow up working in law firms. I think that’s a distinct advantage for my clients. I worked in companies and learned how legal advice impacts business firsthand. There, I had to be accountable for my decisions and how they played out. I also had to learn how to “play nice” with my clients, as they were the business leaders and decision makers.
I also saw how larger companies saw routine benefits from having their general counsel sit at the table for important business and legal decisions. The legal team was integral to success. My goal is to bring that same level of insight and service to companies that lack in-house counsel resources. Just because you don’t employ a lawyer on staff doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be able to have that same benefit.
My career has also allowed me to work in areas that are important to business owners. I’m experienced in commercial transactions, corporate fundraising, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, employment law, privacy, cyber-security, risk management, litigation management, and corporate governance and formation.
In addition to leading LOVE LAW FIRM, I am the Founder and Executive Director of the Long Island Business Forum. The LIBF is an association of businesses that are striving to achieve growth while benefiting the New York City area communities in which they operate. The LIBF sponsors monthly lunches for entrepreneurs and other events throughout the year. This group is one of the highlights of my career.
On a personal level, I am the proud daughter of a decorated Naval officer and a schoolteacher. I attended Smith College and then made my way to New York City to attend Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. The rest, as they say, is history. As I tell people, I wasn’t born in New York, but I got here as fast as I could.
Here I’ve been blessed to meet the love of my life, have two amazing children, adopt several rescue dogs and cats, and live on Long Island, enjoying all that New York has to offer.
