Almost four years ago our daughter was born six weeks premature. We were completely unprepared to see such a tiny and helpless little girl. We also didn’t have any clothing for such a small baby. Fortunately, the nurses in the Special Care Unit at St. Francis Hospital (Wilmington, DE) had a small surplus of clothing for premature infants. When she wore those outfits, she didn’t seem as tiny, the tubes and wires weren’t as scary.
When we had our daughter’s Christening, we asked every guest to bring one outfit to the party to send to St. Francis. But that’s been nearly three years – and many other babies – ago.
So we’re asking that if anyone wants to contribute one new outfit – for a boy, a girl, or neutral – and join our clothing drive, to please do so. We will send the donation on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 to the hospital.
